Test Engineer II

Honeywell | November 2020 - Present

I have recently been hired as a permanent engineer on the Instrumentation team, continuing and advancing the skills and tasks discussed below.

Rotational Engineer

Honeywell | January 2019 - November 2020

Instrumentation Engineer| January 2020 - November 2020

As a instrumentation engineer I was responsible for the design and installation of various sensors used for the development of gas turbine engines. Types of sensors include strain gages, thermocouples, pressure, tip clearance and various other measurement technologies. I also help with design modifications to rig and engine hardware while generating instrumentation system drawings and documentation. Part of my role also includes rotor dynamics analysis to predict how modified hardware will perform during test.

APU Project Engineer| July 2019 - December 2019

During my second rotation, I was an APU project engineer for the COMAC/Irkut HGT750 Engine. I directed and built a Flight Test APU as well as assisted with set-up and completion of various qualification testing. During this time I also scheduled and lead a Maintainability Demonstration for COMAC which consisted of an engine build up, acceptance testing, maintainability demonstration, and a finalized report and video delivered to the customer. The procedure developed was so successful it is now standard for similar demonstrations on other engine programs.

Quality Engineer | January 2019 - July 2019

As a quality engineer that was part of the propulsion and APU assembly line, I received my Six Sigma Green Belt Certification by automating data and metric reporting system, saving the quality and management team hours of work a week. I was also responsible for a multisite IDO Returns meeting, which reduced weekly escapes by 20%.

Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer

Honeywell | May 2018 - August 2018

This last summer I was interning at the Phoenix Sky Harbor facility providing instrumentation engineering and technical support as part of the Flight Test Operation team. I defined, designed, installed, programmed and operated various hardware and software systems/components to collect data from installed test systems. I also participated in flight tests as test coordinator and recorded data as required.

Total Flight Test Time: 56 Hours
